  • August 17, 2013 - Rim Fire-  First day of the Rim Fire Cal Fire retardant bombers from Columbia Helitack Base painted Jawbone Ridge with retardant.  The aircraft worked until sunset to attempt to keep fire from burning down the south slope of Jawbone Ridge in to the Tuolumne River.  At this time the fire was only 200 acres but the next morning the fire had made it to the bottom of the Tuolumne River.
