Cottonwood Fire 1990

September 14, 1990 Tuolumne City, California -- Cottonwood Fire -- William Walker of the Tuolumne County Fire Department wets down unfinished homes on Mount Provo Road as two other crew members assist. No structures were lost. The Cottonwood Fire was held to 2,000 acres by the fast action of fire crews. The fire threatened several small communities. The big challenge was to make sure the fire didn’t get past the Hacienda fuel break, keeping the fire out of the Tuolumne River.
