September 3, 1987 Pine Mountain Lake, California --Stanislaus Complex Fire -- Stanislaus National Forest sawyer Mark Carter moves down fire line while backfire is in progress. The Stanislaus Complex Fire consumed 28 structures and 145,980 acres. One US Forest Service firefighter, David Ross Erickson, died from a tree-felling accident.
