Stanislaus Complex Fire 1987
September 3, 1987 Buck Meadows, California -- Stanislaus Complex Fire -- Active fire coming up from the Tuolumne River canyon threatens to jump Highway 120 near Rim of the World overlook. The Stanislaus Complex Fire consumed 28 structures and 145,980 acres. One US Forest Service firefighter, David Ross Erickson, died from a tree-felling accident.
