September 2, 1987 Buck Meadows, California – Stanislaus Complex Fire -- Sierra Hotshots Captain Mike Freed discusses plans with dozer operator. The Stanislaus Complex Fire consumed 28 structures and 145,980 acres. One US Forest Service firefighter, David Ross Erickson, died from a tree-felling accident.
