September 4, 1987 Greeley Hill, California -- Stanislaus Complex Fire -- Aerial Tanker drops retardant on fire near Greeley Hill. The Stanislaus Complex Fire consumed 28 structures and 145,980 acres. One US Forest Service firefighter, David Ross Erickson, died from a tree-felling accident.
