September 4, 1987 Greeley Hill, California -- Stanislaus Complex Fire -- Secretary of Agriculture Richard Lyng and Stanislaus National Forest Supervisor Blaine Cornell listen to incident commander near Greeley Hill. The Stanislaus Complex Fire consumed 28 structures and 145,980 acres. One US Forest Service firefighter, David Ross Erickson, died from a tree-felling accident.
