September 4, 1987 Greeley Hill, California --Stanislaus Complex Fire -- Giant column of smoke can be seen easily in Greeley Hill. The Stanislaus Complex Fire consumed 28 structures and 145,980 acres. One US Forest Service firefighter, David Ross Erickson, died from a tree-felling accident.
