Stanislaus Complex Fire 1987

September 3, 1987 Buck Meadows, California – Stanislaus Complex Fire -- US Forest Service heavy equipment operator maintains water filling station for fire engines at the Buck Meadows Restaurant. The Stanislaus Complex Fire consumed 28 structures and 145,980 acres. One US Forest Service firefighter, David Ross Erickson, died from a tree-felling accident.
