Motor Fire California Wildfire Near Yosemite National Park

Motor Fire-About 12:00 pm August 25, 2011 a motor home caught fire in the Merced River Canyon on Highway 140 near the Cedar Lodge. Quickly it spread to both sides of the Merced River in this very steep canyon. The Stanislaus National Forest is on the north side of the river with the Sierra National Forest on the south side with Yosemite National Park only a few miles to the East. At 6:00 pm the fire was approximately 1,200 acres at 0% contained.
