  • September 20, 2017--Dexter Fire--Dexter Fire was a small 5 acre fire that started and the intersection of Dexter Rd and Pine Lake Drive near my home in Greeley Hill, Mariposa County, California. Quick action from the air resources like air tankers retardant drops and helicopters dropping water on the fire saved two houses. Also 3 engines from Cal Fire, one engine from the Forest Service were supported by a Mariposa County Water truck. My neighbors who live uphill from the fire were really worried. • Railroad Fire started on Tuesday August 29, 2017. The fire grew to 12,407 acres between the communities of Sugar Pine and Fish Camp along State Route 41 just outside of Yosemite National Park. The fire threatened Nelder Grove a grove of Giant Sequoias. I wasn’t available for the start of the Railroad fire but I went to check Nelder Gove on September 4, 2017.
